A typical SimuGro installation requires only a single power cable around the site or small local solar power devices. This is possible because small controls devices are placed locally to equipment like pumps, while sensors can be optimally located for their purpose, all enabled by sensor and control data being passed through a secure wireless mesh network with message receipt confirmations

As an example. SimuGro climate control is primarily controlled through onsite measurement of temperature, humidity and CO2 being regulated through data insights. This can be complemented by an onsite weather station, API’s from satellite and regional weather reports allowing AI based predictive controls to be implemented, this allows optimizations that prioritize actions, while keeping within safe operating ranges, i.e. using more passive interventions first like windows and blinds over fans and active cooling, saving energy. SimuGro provides fully traceable data storage for KPI with graphical representations for analysis and presenting your SDG and ESG commitments.

Precision measurement of conditions is vital to optimize grow out. SimuGro provides almost unlimited integration of sensors using standardized interfaces supporting RS485, 4-20 mA, 0-5 Volts, PWM etc. These sensors can can be paired with control devices using the same interface types, it is then only a question of defining setpoint values, warning and alarm ranges to implement control functions. No programming required to accurately control nutrients or any other resource usage. Feed and Nutrient curves can be dynamically updated dependent on growth stage during each production cycle.

Eliminate expensive centralized controller cabinets for new or as complement to existing systems.
Traditional centralized systems are expensive and often require specialized skills to install and maintain. In contrast SimuGro as a PnP system is intrinsically easy to install and maintain. The separate nature of the sensing and control devices makes system diagnostics and replacement a non-technical issue. SimuGro together with our UrbanBlue user platforms provides an all in one hardware and software solution, having the ability to be overlayed onto existing systems. Data from existing PLC's Modbus etc. can be combined with the latest high tech sensors and control devices, together with AI functionality.

AIoT sensing and control within a secure wireless web independent infrastructure.
SimuGro secures critical onsite operations without the need for internet access, however when available all internal and external communication is secured by logins and encryption, protecting your data and operational enviroment. SimuCam is our upcoming AI camera complementing existing AI situation recognition with direct in mesh AI recognition, SimuCam will provide the capability to recognize critical situations and directly implement corrective controls and messaging in cooperation with any other system parameters.

No custom PLC style application programming.
All setup for SimuGro is done through our UrbanBlue admin platform. Setting schedules, messages, rules etc. Sensors and control devices can have multiple standardized functions, alllowing them to be reliably and simply configured to provide customized solutions. As an example if you would like to create a virtual parameter that is the average of two temperature sensors. This virtual sensor might then be paired with control devices that open and close windows, simply setting setpoint and switch point temperatures could then provide the function above 27 Celsius open windows and below 23 Celsius close windows. The same switch device that opens and closes windows could also schedule the window opening and closing or provide PWM linear motor control etc., it simply depends on the device and function parameters you setup.

Individual end user language for APP’s and web interfaces.
Especially in Agriculture and Aquaculture where migrant co-worker often form part of an operational team, communication of procedures and solutions can be difficult. Our UrbanBlue platforms overcome this. When adding new users to a client’s system, you allocate individual user languages, all WEB and APP interfaces will then be automatically translated, including support for custom client message translation. All messages and situation status symbols are color coded to provide quick situational awareness and ongoing operations assessments, These messages and symbols can be superimposed on layered 2D and 3D site images providing an instant location reference to the source of the message.

Autonomous measurements and controls, removing repetitive tasks.
Precision environments using scheduled, sequential functions and sensor measurements together and AI analysis, verified by event messages, control responses and AI interpretations. This is especially important to reduce operational risk, when replacing manual tasks with automated functions. i.e. nutrient, PH dosing fish feed. etc. Replace manual onsite measurements with continuous parameter data storage and visualizations. All verifiable remotely via our tightly integrated UrbanBlue Mobile APP’s and Web platforms.

Proactive detection of abnormal situations with corrective measure notifications.
Missing control events, measurement response trends, warning levels and alarms can all trigger priority color coded flags and messaging. Messages can include descriptions of checks and corrective actions in individual user languages.

Schedule tasks with verifications and reminders.
Tasks can be part of human or machine schedules, with automated actions or manual user Mobile APP inputs to confirm task completion. Reminders and escalation messaging to supervisors etc, can be triggered should a task not be completed within a time window.

Scanned QR codes providing task instructions.
Scanned QR codes can trigger APP based instructions for end users providing localized instructions or triggering automated actions. i.e. put a system into service mode, or override a setpoint control with a forced activation etc. Saving time and securing correct procedures especially when staff are not familiar with more complex operations.

Device operational status and control event reporting with logs and messaging
Device status flagging to mobile APP and end user Web applications. These flags are fully customizable depending on criticality of the device within the system, color coded status symbols indicating the time period a devices has not responded and messaging if an action is needed conditional on the severity of any dropout. Control device events are used as verifications for remote control actions, or generated automatically by devices when their control status changes. Events can also be viewed against plots of measurements allowing insights into control functionality.

Plug and Play devices for quick non-technical upgrades or replacements.
Most SimuGro sensors have a single cable and enclosure IP67 rated for water integrity, this connects to either our SimuPower Hub or SimuSolar source, with backup battery for continuous night time operation. A wide range of third-party sensors utilizing RS485, 4-20 mA, 0-5 Volt, PWM, UART. or external control devices such as Modbus motor inverters, AC contactors, DC relays. etc, are supported by a secondary 5 pin cable. Serial numbers and QR codes keep track of devices both on site and in the cloud, allowing our mobile APP to quickly add or remove a device from the wireless network.

Simplified sensor maintenance with online or pre-calibrated sensor swap.
We strive to limit maintenance, and when necessary, reduce the complexity of any steps required. As an example, our SimuCare water quality system provides cableless sensors, avoiding cable damage and BNC connector corrosion issues. The sensors can be offset calibrated in-situ while still on the base device or even remotely. As calibration data is stored in the electrode sensor head, we and our distributors can also provide a 10 second drop in probe swap service. (See Video). Our SimuAir sensor auto calibrates CO2 measurements using a smart algorithm as long as it is exposed to outside fresh air at regular intervals, typical in ventilated greenhouses. etc.
